However, “hard floor” is not a single product; it is a category with distinct behaviors, tolerances, and care protocols. Misusing a hard floor is the fastest way to void warranties, cause warping, or create permanent scratches. This guide breaks down the correct usage of hard floor surfaces across three phases: preparation and installation, daily interaction, and long-term maintenance. Step 1: Acclimate the material before installation Hard floor planks and tiles expand and contract with ambient humidity. Do not install them immediately after delivery.
